Finding and Sending Your P2 “General Document” Or "ID Request" Link
This feature can be used to either send yourself your General Document or ID Request links to have on hand (for sending in text messages, any other messaging platform or adding to your email signature block). Or you can also send others your automated link directly from here as long as you have their mobile number.
“General Document” links will open an automated flow to collect documents using PULL features.
“ID Request” links will open an automated flow for collecting data from and validating a Drivers License (as well as a PULL feature for collecting documents AFTER an ID has been validated). This is a custom feature, please reach out to sales@botdoc.io for more info.
These can be found and sent as follows:
Upon Login, you'll need to navigate from the main dashboard of your account to the conversations page which can be located on the upper left hand side of the Dashboard.
Once you click on the “Conversations” tab you'll be redirected to the main Conversations Dashboard. On this page you will find the option to send the automated P2 links under the “Personal URL Automations” tab. This tab is located on the left hand side near the bottom as shown below:
From there you will be directed to a page titled “Personal URL Automations”. Here you will see a “Link type” box which has the option for a General Pull or ID Request. Next to that is a space for the mobile number you wish to send the P2 “Personal Link” to (be it yourself or someone else). Lastly, there is a box to add an optional message that will be received in the SMS by the recipient.
To send (either to yourself or others), simply add a desired message, input the recipient phone number and click “Send SMS”.
“WHY/HOW could I use this?”
There are many use cases for the usefulness of this capability. I will showcase one or two here to add some context to the Personal URL Automations feature:
Lets say you are an administrator for a company. You are regularly looking to collect documents or information from customers simply and securely, be it on an individual or “batch” basis.
For an individual customer, for example, you could send a “General Pull” automation from this portal using the customer's mobile number. Simply select, “General Pull” from the Link Type box, add the customer mobile number, add a message (ex: Hi Christine, please use the attached link to send photos or saved copies of your updated W-2 and Social Security card), and then click “Send SMS”.
The customer will then complete the process that is received inside the link (which included adding their name and a PULL feature to upload documents/photos).
Once complete, you as the administrator, will see a “Conversation” in your Botdoc portal labeled with the Name of the customer and inside will be the files you requested, ready for download. Simple as that.
From a “Batch Send” perspective, let's say you as the admin need to collect documents from many people (CPA in tax season, maybe?). If you send the link to yourself, you can then add and save the link into your Email Signature block. The advantage here comes when you need to batch send requests for documents you may need via email. It may read something like this:
“Hello there,
Tax season is approaching! Please use the link below to send me your updated W-2 and any other documents we will need to file for you this year.
Thank You!”
Because your link is saved into your Email Signature block you can batch send this email to 10, 50, 100, any number of people and they will all be able to use the provided link individually to complete your document request easily and securely.
As customers complete and respond, just as the individual example noted above, you as the administrator will see a “Conversation” in your Botdoc portal labeled with the Name of the customer and inside will be the files you requested, ready for download.
