Auto Groups/Dealerships: Easily Create Unique Queue "Usernames".
This FAQ is designed to add an element of simplicity and ease to creating unique Queue Usernames for your Dealerships/Service Departments/etc. For a refresher on how to Create Queues, CLICK HERE. (As a reminder, the Queue “Username” will be tied to “Personal Links” for the P1 Queues as well as the Conversations Queues)
(Note: You can create Queue Usernames however you'd like. This is merely a few options that can codified in your policies to easily create usernames for queues to alleviate some friction in the process)
Queue Names can be as simple or as complicated as you need in order to differentiate between their uses. Queue names do not need to be “unique”.
Queues for Sales Managers/Salespeople:
Whether you need to create one Queue or multiple, here is one simple formula to creating a unique username for the Queue: Dealership Name (as an acronym) + Dealership Zip code + (Optional Number or letter if adding multiple Queues).
So if we take that example, Lets say your dealership is “Auto Dealer of Colorado Springs”. So a username for your queue that is simple and likely to be “unique” (based on the formula above) would be
ADOCS80921
As mentioned above, if you need multiple you can easily add an additional number/letter at the end.
ADOCS80921A
ADOCS80921B
etc.…
If you need to create Queues for specific Departments you can use a similar thought process. Lets say you have a Service Department and a Finance Department that also need a queue or multiple queues. You could use a similar structure for continuity: Dealership Name (as an acronym) + Department Name (as an acronym) + Dealership Zip code + + (Optional Number or letter if adding multiple Queues).
So the Service Department at Auto Dealer of Colorado Springs would be:
ADOCSSD80921
As mentioned above, if you need multiple you can easily add an additional number/letter at the end:
ADOCSSD80921A
ADOCSSD80921B
etc….
Your Auto Groups and Dealerships can absolutely come up with any number of ways to formulate unique queue usernames. I do recommend they not be too long because the username will be a part of the “Personal Links” associated with the queues. Keeping them relatively short and simple will keep you from having overly lengthy links when saving your SMS short codes.
